MINSK, 21 June (BelTA) – Belarus advanced to the playoff of the 38th edition of the FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2021, BelTA has learned.
Belarus comfortably sailed past Sweden 78-54 to reach the quarterfinals as the Group A winners. Alexandria Bentley had 20 points and 5 assists, while Maryia Papova contributed 17 points.
Belarus first stunned Spain 53-51 and then unexpectedly lost to Slovakia 54-58. Sweden routed Slovakia 74-57 first and then lost to Spain 55-76.
In Group B Serbia sealed their third victory defeating Montenegro 87-75 to make up the quarterfinals.
In Group C Slovenia lost to Bosnia and Herzegovina 91-81, while Belgium edged Turkey 63-61 to advance to the quarterfinal.
Quarterfinals will be held on 23 June, semifinals – on 26 June, and finals - on 27 June.
