He recalled that at the NOC meeting to discuss the forthcoming Olympics on 19 November 2019, NOC President Aleksandr Lukashenko gave an instruction to hold monthly sessions to review preparations for the Olympics. The National Research Center for Sports was set up by merging the National Center for Sports Medicine and the National Research Center for Physical Education and Sports. For a long time the research center was housed in one of the city's polyclinics. However, in February 2019 a new building of the center was commissioned near Minsk Arena.
