Belarus' Lidziya Marozava reaches Libema Open doubles semifinal

MINSK, 15 June (BelTA) – Lidziya Marozava of Belarus and Lesley Kerkhove of the Netherlands have advanced to the women's doubles semifinal at the Rosmalen Grass Court Championships in Hertogenbosch, the Netherlands, BelTA informs.

In the quarterfinal the Belarusian-Dutch tandem secured a solid victory over Zhang Shuai of China and Japan's Rika Fujiwara, 6-2, 6-2.

In the round of Last 16 Belarus' Aryna Sabalenka, ranked 46 in the world, faced Australia's Ajla Tomljanovic (World No.71). The Belarusian lost the first set 3-6 and took revenge in the second 7-6 (7-5). The deciding set was postponed due to bad weather. On 15 June, Aryna Sabalenka and Russia's Veronika Kudermetova will take on Belgium's Elise Mertens and Demi Schuurs of the Netherlands in the quarterfinal. In case Sabalenka and Kudermetova win, they will face Marozava and Kerkhove in the semifinal.

In the men's event in Nottingham, the UK Belarus' Ilya Ivashko and Marcel Granollers of Spain lost 3-6, 4-6 to Australia's Matt Reid and Adil Shamasdin of Canada in the quarterfinal.
