Belarus' Lidziya Marozava off to good start at Linz Open

MINSK, 7 February (BelTA) – Lidziya Marozava of Belarus, teamed with Xinyun Han of China, went off to a good start at the 2023 Linz Open defeating the Czech duo Anastasia Detiuc and Miriam Kolodziejova, 3-6, 7-6 (7-5), 10-3 to progress into the quarterfinal, BelTA has learned.

The Belarusian-Chinese tandem will next play Ukraine's Nadiia Kichenok and Germany's Anna-Lena Friedsam.

At the Abu Dhabi Open Belarus' world number 38 Aliaksandra Sasnovich failed to reach the singles main draw, losing to world number 149 Mirjam Bjorklund of Sweden, 3-6, 7-6 (9-7), 5-7. In the doubles opener the Belarusian, paired with Leylah Fernandez of Canada, will take on Russia's Vera Zvonareva and China's Zhaoxuan Yang.
