Belarus, Iran to cooperate in sport

MINSK, 4 October (BelTA) – Belarus and Iran have signed a memorandum of understanding in physical education and sport. The document was inked by Belarus' Sport and Tourism Minister Sergei Kovalchuk and Iran's Minister of Sport and Youth Masoud Soltanifar in Minsk on 4 October, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Sport and Tourism Ministry.

The parties expressed interest in developing relations in physical education and sport as a means of strengthening friendship and improving mutual understanding between the two states. An agreement was reached to exchange referees, coaches and other specialists. The two ministries are set to launch an exchange of information and experience in sport education and science. The sharing of the best practices in the construction and use of sport facilities is also of mutual interest.

While in Belarus, the Iranian delegation visited the Belarusian State University of Physical Education, Borisov Arena, the FC BATE Borisov training grounds, Dinamo Stadium, the Staiki Olympic Center, the equestrian sport center and the chess and checkers center.
