Belarus go 2nd at 2019 Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships

MINSK, 19 September (BelTA) – The Belarusian team go 2nd at the 2019 Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships in Baku after the third day of competitions, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Gymnastics Association.

In the Clubs event, Arina Averina of Russia scored a total of 24,250 points to place first. Her sister Dina Averina followed her with 24,000 points. Third was Ukraine's Vlada Nikolchenko with 23,450 points. Belarus' Katsiaryna Halkina and Alina Harnasko placed fifth and sixth respectively, earning 21,900 and 21,600 points. Anastasia Salos of Belarus was 15th with 20,200 points.

The results took Belarus up from the fourth to the second spot in the team standings. On 19 September, Belarusian athletes will compete in the Ribbon routine. Thursday will also feature finals with Clubs, Ribbon and team competitions. The fourth day of the championships will learn the All-Around finalists. Sixteen best of them will qualify for the Tokyo Olympics 2020.
