Belarus' football festival nominated for UEFA GROW 2018 award

MINSK, 4 October (BelTA) - The Belarusian family football festival launched by Belarus Football Federation (BFF) has been nominated for the UEFA GROW 2018 award, BelTA learned from the BFF press service.

The festival is one of the most successful BFF grassroots projects, one of the three candidates for the award in the category "Participation". Two years ago, 56 families took part in the debut festival. This year saw over a thousand families from all over Belarus taking part in the event. The England and Romania football associations are competing with Belarus in this category. The three candidates have been selected by a competent jury from 27 associations.

UEFA GROW was launched in 2015 with the aim of systematically and strategically growing European football by inspiring and collaborating with national associations in order to ensure they are able to maximize their full potential both on and off the pitch. On 28 September an independent jury examined each of the 106 applications sent by the football associations for the UEFA GROW 2018 award.

In each of the five nominations, the jury chose three best projects, from which the winners will be selected. Five winners in the categories “Image”, “Participation”, “Involvement”, “Profit”, “Marketing in Women's Football” will be announced at the official ceremony during the UEFA GROW conference in Riga on 30-31 October.
