MINSK, 12 February (BelTA) - The draw for the inaugural Fed Cup by BNP Paribas Finals was set in Budapest on 11 February. Twelve nations will compete in the Group Stage in the Hungarian capital on 14-19 April, BelTA has learned.
Belarus will face Australia and Belgium in Group B. Last weekend Belarus secured a 3-2 win over the Netherlands in The Hague. Belarus has been playing in the tournament since 1994. The country's biggest-ever achievement was the finals in 2017.
The other 2020 Fed Cup Finals groups:
Group A – France, Russia, Hungary;
Group C – USA, Spain, Slovakia;
Group D – Czech Republic, Germany, Switzerland.
The winners of the groups will continue their run for the Fed Cup trophy.
The forthcoming tournament will take place on indoor clay courts at the Laszlo Papp Budapest Sports Arena.
