Belarus' Dmitry Asanov into St. Petersburg Governor Cup final

MINSK, 11 May (BelTA) – Dmitry Asanov of Belarus has reached the final of the international boxing tournament St. Petersburg Governor Cup, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Boxing Federation.

Competing at M-1 Arena in Russia's St. Petersburg are athletes with high international rankings. In the men's 60kg event Dmitry Asanov defeated Russia's Radna Tsybikov and Magomed Tinovasov. On 11 May, the Belarusian will face Lazaro Alvarez Estrada of Cuba.

The St. Petersburg Governor Cup has gathered athletes from 15 countries. The international boxing tournament was first held in 2009.

Boxing is part of the 2nd European Games program. The competitions will be held at the Uruchye Sport Palace on 21-30 June. A total of 316 athletes will compete in 15 medal events.
