Belarus clinches Mixed Team Aerials gold in Krasnoyarsk

KRASNOYARSK, 4 March (BelTA) – Belarus' Aliaksandra Ramanouskaya and Artyom Bashlakov won the Mixed Team Aerials gold at the 29th Winter Universiade in Krasnoyarsk, Russia, BelTA has learned.

The competitions were held in the multi-purpose sport center Sopka. The Belarusian duet scored a total of 182.42 points. Both the athletes performed a triple somersault, one of the most difficult elements in aerials. Second were Kristina Spiridonova and Stanislav Nikitin of Russia (181.27 points). Bronze went to Lyubov Nikitina and Maxim Burov of Russia (170.04 points).

Belarus' Vyacheslav Timertsev got injured at the training practice and could not compete together with Yana Yarmoshevich.

Earlier, Aliaksandra Ramanouskaya won the Ladies' Aerials gold.

The Universiade which is running from 2 to 12 March will have 76 medal events in 11 sports: biathlon, Alpine skiing, curling, cross-country skiing, snowboarding, ski orienteering, figure skating, freestyle, ice hockey, bandy and short track speed skating. Competing in the sport forum are about 3,000 athletes from more than 50 countries.
