Belarus clinches gold at 2018 PyeongChang Paralympics

MINSK, 12 March (BelTA) – Svetlana Sakhonenko of Belarus won the Women's 15km Free, Visually Impaired at the 2018 Paralympic Games in PyeongChang, BelTA informs.

The Belarusian clocked 49:11.7 to take gold. Second was Oksana Shyshkova of Ukraine (49:19.5). Bronze went to Russia's Mikhalina Lysova (52:29.2). Yadviga Skorobogataya of Belarus finished 5th.

Svetlana Sakhonenko also won bronze in the Women's 6km, Visually Impaired (biathlon).

Yuri Golub of Belarus has already bagged two silver medals: in the Men's 20km Free, Visually Impaired and the men's 7.5km, Visually Impaired.

Belarus is currently 9th in the medal count with six (one gold, three silver, and two bronze) medals.
