Belarus' Biathlon Cup kicks off in Raubichi

MINSK, 13 January (BelTA) – Belarus' Biathlon Cup has started in the National Winter Olympic Training Center Raubichi, BelTA has learned.

The 2018 Olympic champion Dzinara Alimbekova won a landslide victory in the women's 7.5km sprint with two shooting bouts showing the result of 20:33.2 and flawless shooting. The silver medal went to Irina Kruchinkina (22:40.3; 3 misses), the bronze was claimed by Natallia Karnitskaya (23:08.5; 2).

The 2022 Olympic Games Anton Smolski won the men's 10km sprint in 23:21.6 (with two misses). Ivan Tulatin was 21.6 seconds behind the winner, making only one mistake on two firing lines, Dzmitry Lazouski won bronze (+27.0 seconds; 1).

Pursuit races for women and men will be held on 14 January. Belarus' Biathlon Cup is a preparatory tournament for two legs of the Commonwealth Cup, which will be held in Raubichi at the end of January.
