NUCLEAR POWER IN BELARUS AND WORLDWIDE
MINSK, 22 June (BelTA) – The Belarusian women's 3x3 basketball team has achieved its second victory during the 2nd European Games Minsk 2019, BelTA has learned.
The game of Belarus vs Russia was extremely tense with equal chances for success. The Russian team was in the lead until the game was nearly finished, but Belarusians still prevailed and ended the game with 21:16. The Belarusian team will play its final game in Women's First Round – Group A against Serbia today. The game will begin at 19:05. On the first day of the games the Belarusian team steamrolled Italy 21:7.
The composition of the other preliminary groups is as follows: Romania, Hungary, Czechia, and Germany in Group B; France, Netherlands, Switzerland, and Andorra in Group C; Estonia, Ukraine, Latvia, and Spain in Group D.
The Belarusian men's team does not play today. Yesterday in the First Round – Group C Belarus beat Slovenia 15:10. The final games in this group will take place on Sunday, 23 June: Estonia vs Slovenia (scheduled to begin at 16:50), Belarus vs Lithuania (17:15), Slovenia vs Lithuania (18:40), Belarus vs Estonia (19:05).
The other preliminary groups include: A - Serbia, Romania, Poland, Andorra; B - Russia, Ukraine, France, Italy; D - Latvia, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Turkey.
After the group stage is over, the two best teams from each preliminary group will make the playoffs. The basketball tournament of the 2nd European Games, which is taking place at Palova Arena near the Sports Palace, will end on 24 June.
