Belarus beat Hungary in UEFA Futsal Euro 2022 qualifying

MINSK, 14 April (BelTA) - Belarus solved Hungary 5-2 at home to wrap up its UEFA Futsal Euro 2022 qualifying process on 13 April, BelTA has learned.

The teams traded goals in the first half. After the break Belarus scored three more to secure its win and place second in qualifying group 5. Vladimir Zhigalko, Dmitry Los, Anton Matveyenko, Vladislav Selyuk and Sergei Krykun scored for the winning side.

In the first leg Hungary edged Belarus 2-1 in Budapest. Earlier, Belarus defeated Israel 3-0 on the road and 14-0 at home and lost to Kazakhstan 2-5 on the road and 1-6 at home.

The final group standings are as the following: Kazakhstan – 18 points, Belarus – 9, Hungary – 6, Israel – 3.

Spain, Italy, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Russia and Azerbaijan have already qualified for the final. Winners of the eight qualifying teams and six best runners-up will compete in the final stage of the 2022 European championship. The two other runners-up will face each other for one more berth in the final, which is to be played in the Netherlands on 19 January – 6 February 2022.
