Belarus beat France at IIHF World Men U20 in Germany

MINSK, 11 December (BelTA) – Belarus defeated France 6-2 in Division I Group A of the ongoing IIHF Ice Hockey U20 World Championship in Fussen, Germany, BelTA has learned.

Dmitry Kravchenko's men had a much similar game to the one they played against Norway (5-3). Belarus had to catch up on the opponents once again. Dinamo's forward Ivan Drozdov scored one minute into the game. France provided a two-goal answer late in the second period. Before the break Evgeny Oksentyuk leveled off at 2-2. Four goals by Alexei Protas, Sergei Sapego, Vladimir Alistrov, Maksim Sushko were scored in the final stanza to secure a solid win for Belarus to top the standings.

Belarus next play against Austria on 12 December.
