Belarus' BATE Borisov to debut in Mundialito de Clubes Moscow

MINSK, 27 February (BelTA) – BATE Borisov, Belarus' many-time champion in beach soccer, will play in the Mundialito de Clubes in Moscow for the first time, BelTA has learned.

The Belarusian team will open the competitions against Portugal's Sporting CP from Lisbon. BATE Borisov will face Brazil's Flamengo from Rio de Janeiro on 28 February and Spartak Moscow on 1 March.

Preliminary group B will feature S.C. Braga, Levante UD, A.S.D. Catania and Lokomotiv Moscow. One of the leaders of the Belarusian national team Igor Brishtel will play for the Italian team at the tournament.

Following the preliminary stage, two best teams from each group will play in the semifinals on 2 March. Medal games are scheduled for 3 March. The tournament will be held for the sixth time. For the first time it will take place outside Brazil.
