Belarus bag six medals in biathlon at PyeongChang 2018 Paralympics

MINSK, 16 March (BelTA) – Belarusian athletes picked up six medals in biathlon events at the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, BelTA informs.

Yuri Golub claimed first place in the biathlon Men's 12.5km, Visually Impaired. He earlier won silver in the Men's 7.5km event. Dmitry Loban picked up another silver medal. Three bronze medals were clinched by two-time PyeongChang medalist Lidia Grafeyeva and Svetlana Sakhonenko.

The Belarusian biathlon team took fourth place in the medla table for biathlon in Pyeongchang (one gold, two silver, three bronze medals), trailing only Ukraine (14 medals), Russia (11), and the USA (7).

The Belarusian Paralympians are set to take part in the upcoming cross-country skiing events. The 2018 Winter Paralympics closing ceremony will take place on 18 March.
