MINSK, 25 October (BelTA) - The Belarusian national football team is 78th with 1,307 points in the October rankings of the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), BelTA has learned.
Since the release of the previous rankings the national team climbed up two positions. Igor Kriushenko's men played two games as part of the UEFA Nations League campaign. Belarus edged Luxembourg 1-0 and drew 0-0 against Moldova.
Belarusian will next play against Luxembourg (84th) on 15 November, and wrap up the group stage against San Marino (209th) on 18 November.
The October FIFA rankings are topped by Belgium (1,733 points). France is second with 1,732 points. Third is Brazil with 1,669 points.
Ukraine is ranked highest among the post-Soviet states (27th, 1,490 points). Russia goes 41st with 1,433 points.
The next FIFA rankings will be published on 29 November 2018.
