BATE lose to PAOK 1-4 in UEFA Europa League

MINSK, 5 October (BelTA) – FC BATE Borisov lost 1-4 to PAOK from Greece on Group L matchday two of the UEFA Europa League on 4 October, BelTA has learned.

The hosts allowed three goals within 17 minutes of the first half. After the break the Borisov team increased their offence and created a number of dangerous moments at the guests' net.

The home side reduced the gap as substitute Maksim Skavysh's header took a heavy deflection and dropped inside the post. Aleksei Baga's men continued to attack, but PAOK captain Dimitris Pelkas scored fourth for the Greek team in the 74th minute.

Elsewhere in Group L, Chelsea edged Vidi 1-0.

On matchday one BATE blanked Vidi 2-0, while Chelsea beat PAOK 1-0.

The Group L standings are as follows: Chelsea – 6 points, PAOK – 3, BATE – 3, Vidi – 0.

On matchday three (8 November) BATE will host Chelsea, PAOK will play Vidi.
