MINSK, 15 January (BelTA) – World number 53 Victoria Azarenka of Belarus suffered a loss at her first round of the Australian Open, BelTA has learned.
The Belarusian faced German's world number 110 Laura Siegemund and won the first set 7-6 (7-5). Then, Victoria Azarenka lost the second and third sets 4-6 and 2-6.
Earlier, Belarus' Aryna Sabalenka (World No.11) and Aliaksandra Sasnovich (31) progressed to the second round of the Australian Open.
