MINSK, 29 January (BelTA) – Belarusian Victoria Azarenka (No.51 on the WTA ranking) defeated Margarita Gasparyan of Russia (81) 6-4, 6-1 to set up a match against Petra Kvitova of the Czech Republic in the second round of the St. Petersburg Ladies Trophy, BelTA has learned.
Victoria Azarenka and Daria Gavrilova of Australia will play the first-round doubles match against Russia's Ekaterina Makarova and Margarita Gasparyan.
Belarusian-Russian duo Vera Lapko and Veronika Kudermetova will face American-Slovenian team of Raquel Atawo and Katarina Srebotnik on 29 January. Belarusian Lidziya Marozava and Japanese Shuko Aoyama will be up against Serbian Aleksandra Krunic and Olga Danilovic.
