MINSK, 15 May (BelTA) – Belarus' world number 51 Victoria Azarenka has secured a second victory at the ongoing Internazionali BNL d'Italia in Rome, BelTA has learned.

In the second round the Belarusian battled through Ukraine's world number 6 Elina Svitolina 4-6, 6-1, 7-5. The game was delayed several times because of rain.

Azarenka, into Rome with a wildcard, had to come back from a set down and save a match point late in the third for an epic comeback after two hours and 14 minutes on court.

The Belarusian cruised past China's world number 48 Zhang Shuai 6-2, 6-1 in the opener.
