MINSK, 18 June (BelTA) – About 1,000 athletes from Croatia, Turkey, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Austria, Romania, Albania, Russia, Estonia, Finland, Ukraine, Spain, Poland, and other countries landed in the Minsk National Airport on 18 June in order to take part in the 2nd European Games Minsk 2019, BelTA has learned.

Flights with teams from participating countries arrive every 15-20 minutes, representatives of the Minsk Regional Customs told BelTA.

Belarus' customs service is intent on making their arrival and customs formalities as comfortable as possible. Although athletes bring special sports gear, including sport weapons, which are subject to mandatory control procedures, the time for completing one's customs procedures has not exceeded three minutes.

The 2nd European Games will take place in Minsk on 21-30 June 2019. Over 4,000 athletes from 50 countries will compete in 200 medal events.
