Athletes, coaches to get Belarus President's Sport Club scholarships in 2023

MINSK, 14 December (BelTA) – Over 300 young athletes and their coaches will become holders of the Belarus President's Sport Club scholarships in 2023, BelTA learned from the press service of the club.

The average size of the annual scholarship will be Br7,500 (Br625 per month). The list of scholarship recipients includes 189 athletes, 24 of whom won gold medals, eight - silver medals and 11 - bronze medals at world and European championships in various age categories. Ten of them are Paralympic athletes. The list also includes 133 coaches in 47 sports. Representatives of badminton, water polo and field hockey will receive financial support for the first time in 2023.

In 2021 the Belarus President's Sport Club launched an experiment to encourage young coaches in order to reduce the outflow of qualified personnel from the sports industry. A total of 70 young professionals will receive support from the club in 2023.
