MINSK, 6 December (BelTA) - Anastasiya Shkurdai of Belarus placed fifth in the women's 50m butterfly, clocking 25.28 in the finals of the LEN European Short Course Championships 2019 that are running in Glasgow, the UK through 8 December, BelTA has learned.
France's Melanie Henique won the event in 24.56. Her teammate Beryl Gastaldello clocked 24.78 to finish with the silver medal. Bronze medals went to Denmark's Emilie Beckmann and Jeanette Ottesen who both clocked 25.15.
The Belarusian team of Viktar Staselovich, Ilya Shymanovich, Anastasiya Shkurdai and Nastassia Karakouskaya placed fourth in the 4x50m medley relay.
The UK is hosting the European short course event for the second time. The 1998 European Short Course Championships took place in Sheffield.
