Anastasiya Prokopenko named Best Senior Female Pentathlete by UIPM

MINSK, 12 November (BelTA) – Anastasiya Prokopenko of Belarus has been named the Best Senior Female Pentathlete by the Union Internationale de Pentathlon Moderne (UIPM), BelTA learned from the Belarusian Modern Pentathlon Federation.

The award was bestowed upon the Belarusian athlete during the UIPM Congress in Limassol, Cyprus. The Belarusian received the award from President of the Russian Modern Pentathlon Federation, UIPM Vice President Vyacheslav Aminov. Jun Woongtae of South Korea was named the Best Senior Male Pentathlete.

In the 2018 season Anastasiya Prokopenko won gold in individual and relay at the 2018 World Modern Pentathlon Championships. Anastasiya Prokopenko was victorious at the prestigious Kremlin Cup tournament in Moscow. She was also awarded the bronze medal of the Olympic Games in Beijing after the bronze winner Victoria Tereshchuk of Ukraine was stripped off the medal for testing positively for prohibited substance.
