MINSK, 25 October (BelTA) – Anastasia Mikhalenko of Belarus claimed the 69kg gold at the ongoing 2018 European Junior Weightlifting Championships in Poland's Zamosc, BelTA has learned.
The Belarusian made it 216kg (93kg + 123kg) overall to claim the European champion title. Second was Russia's Ani Sargsyan who lifted a total of 215kg (95kg+120kg). Bronze went to Turkey with a combined total of 205kg (90kg+115kg).
In the men's 77kg event Belarus' Artyom Shagov clinched bronze with the total of 328kg (148kg+180kg). Bulgaria took gold with the total of 338kg (150kg+188kg).
Earlier, Gennady Laptev of Belarus won gold in the 62kg weight category. Igor Lozko claimed the 77kg gold.
The European Junior Weightlifting Championships in Poland will be over on 27 October.
