
MINSK, 16 January (BelTA) – The Belarusian Winter Tennis Championship took place in the Minsk Palace of Tennis and featured almost 140 players, BelTA has learned.
Aliona Falei won the women's singles event defeating Darya Khomutyanskaya, 4-6, 6-1, 7-6 (7-3) in the final. Aliona Falei won her second champion title in the mixed event. In the final she, paired with Erik Arutiunian, beat Kseniya Yersh and Mikhail Dubrovsky, 6-4, 7-6 (7-5). Varvara Bernovich and Sofia Gapankova saw off Kseniya Yersh and Yuliya Perepekhina, 6-3, 3-6, 10-4, to win the women's doubles event.
Mikhail Dubrovsky won gold in the men's singles event defeating Aleksandr Kalinin, 6-4, 6-4. Erik Arutiunian and Daniil Ostapenkov were victorious in the men's doubles event, seeing off Aleksandr Zgirovsky and Aleksandr Leonenko, 6-4, 7-5.
The winners and medalists of the first tournament of 2023 received medals, cups and diplomas, and also gifts from the Belarusian Tennis Federation.
