Alimbekava 5th in IBU Women's World Cup Total Score

MINSK, 22 December (BelTA) - Belarus' Dzinara Alimbekava goes fifth in the IBU Women's World Cup Total Score, BelTA has learned.

Before BMW IBU World Cup Biathlon 4 in Hochfilzen, Dzinara Alimbekava was second in the standings. In Austria the Belarusian finished 31st in the Women's 7.5km Sprint, 11th in the Women's Pursuit and 20th in the Women's Mass Start.

Currently, the Belarusian has 326 points. The IBU Women's World Cup Total Score is topped Marte Olsbu Roeiseland of Norway with 415 points. Second is Sweden's Hanna Oeberg with 378 points. Third goes Norway's Tiril Eckhoff with 346 points. Fourth is Sweden's Elvira Oeberg with 334 points.

Three more Belarusians earned points in the first four World Cup events: Elena Kruchinkina is 27th with 100 points, Iryna Kryuko is 29th with 97 points, and Hanna Sola is 37th with 65 points. In the IBU Women's Nations Cup Score Belarus goes 7th with a total of 2,252 points. Sweden leads with 2,871 points, Norway is second with 2,745 points and France is third with 2,682 points.

Johannes Boe of Norway tops the Men's World Cup Total Score with 428 points. Second goes Norway's Sturla Holm Laegreid with 373 points. Third is Sweden's Sebastian Samuelsson with 344 points. As for the Belarusian athletes, Anton Smolski goes 29th with 92 points, Sergey Bocharnikov is 32nd with 86 points, Maksim Varabei is 43rd with 39 points, Raman Yaliotnau is 56th with 15 points. Belarus is eighth in the IBU Man's Nations Cup Score with a total of 2,052 points. Norway leads the standings with 3,033 points, Sweden goes second with 2,714 points and Germany is third with 2,629 points.

BMW IBU World Cup Biathlon 5 will take place in Oberhof, Germany in early 2021. The event will include men's and women's sprints on 8 January, men's and women's pursuits on 9 January, and 4x6 mixed relay and single mixed relay on 10 January.
