MINSK, 14 May (BelTA) – Belarusian specialist Aleksandr Andriyevsky has been appointed head coach of HC Dinamo Minsk, BelTA learned from the press service of the Minsk team.
As a player, Aleksandr Andriyevsky was captain of the Belarusian national team, and spent nine seasons with HC Dinamo Minsk. He also played for the clubs of the United States, Finland, Italy, Germany and Russia. He was the first Belarusian to play for the NHL's Chicago.
Aleksandr Andriyevsky started his coaching career with HC Dinamo Minsk in the 2006/2007 season. He also headed the Belarusian junior national team and HC Gomel. He led Dinamo Minsk in the 2009/2010 season after Glen Hanlon left. Under Aleksandr Andriyevsky's tutelage Dinamo Minsk won Spengler Cup 2009. Aleksandr Andriyevsky also led KHL's Admiral Vladivostok and Sibir.
Aleksandr Andriyevsky is expected to form the coaching staff in the near future.
