MINSK, 21 April (BelTA) – The 2020 ITTF European Olympic Qualification Tournament has been postponed to 2021. The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) took the relevant decision due to the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus, BelTA has learned.
The competitions were due to take place in Moscow in April 2020. The ITTF had to suspend all its tournaments until 30 June in the light of the pandemic. Apart from the European Olympic Qualification Tournament, Olympic qualifiers in Asia, America and Oceania were also postponed.
In January, the Belarusian men's and women's national teams took part in the World Olympic Qualification Event, but failed to earn the Tokyo Olympics berths.
