MINSK, 12 April (BelTA) – Belarus' world number 65 Vera Lapko has failed to reach the semifinal of the Samsung Open presented by Corner, BelTA has learned.
In the quarterfinal the Belarusian lost 6-4, 4-6, 1-6 to Poland's world number 115 Iga Swiatek. The Belarusian battled past Hungary's world number 309 Reka Luca Jani 6-2, 2-6, 6-2 in the opener and saw off Russia's world number 69 Evgeniya Rodina 6-2, 6-0 in the round of Last 16.
In the women's doubles quarterfinal Vera Lapko and Mandy Minella of Luxembourg lost to the Romanian duet of Sorana Cirstea and Cristina Mitu 2-6, 6-1, 7-10.
