MINSK, 2 June (BelTA) - Young people should be at the vanguard of society, Deputy Head of the Belarus President Administration Igor Lutsky told reporters on the sidelines of the 9th Plenum of the Central Committee of the Belarusian BRSM Youth Union, BelTA has learned.
“Young people always express themselves. We just want to give some impetus to the youth movement. Soon we will celebrate Youth Day. We are planning to hold Youth Week. Of course, the most important thing is patriotic, moral and spiritual education of young people, promotion of a healthy lifestyle. Young people should be at the vanguard of society. Youth activists are important for us. Their place is not on the sidelines but in the midst of society, and their job is to communicate the society the position of young people,” Igor Lutsky said.
"The format of communication is changing. We used to be more face-to-face. Now we communicate more with the help of modern information technologies. This, in turn, leaves a certain imprint on our behavior, mentality. So the young people of today do not need to give up on this,” Igor Lutsky noted. “I believe that honest, decent and fair people have been appreciated at all times. These basic principles should be at the heart of our work, including the work of young people."
The plenum is set to discuss the draft strategy for the development of the youth organization for 2021-2025. The event is running offline with videoconference calls to the BRSM territorial committees.
The Central Committee is the governing body of the Belarusian BRSM Youth Union between congresses, which makes decisions at the plenums of the BRSM Central Committee.
