Young Belarusian designer among prizewinners of International Young Designers Contest in Ukraine

MINSK, 19 October (BelTA) - Aleksandra Volovikova, the 2020 winner of the Fashion Mill, the Belarusian national fashion and photography festival-contest, became prizewinner of the prestigious International Young Designers Contest (IYDC) in Kiev, BelTA learned from the press service of the the Belarusian state light industry concern Bellegprom.

"Aleksandra came in first in the online voting in her group where she competed against fashion designers from the Netherlands, Ukraine, Latvia, Slovenia and Hungary. The top three also features representatives of Hungary and Bulgaria. The Grand Prix went to a designer from the Netherlands," the press service said.

The results were announced online by internationally recognized fashion experts from France, Italy, Belgium, the United States and Japan. Aleksandra Volovikova received a prize from COCOS Fashion Trade, a partner of IYDC 2020, which will develop the logo for Aleksandra Volovikova's brand.

The International Young Designers Contest IYDC in Kiev is one of the largest professional competitions of Eastern and Central Europe, which is held within the framework of the Ukrainian Fashion Week under the auspices of the Ukrainian Fashion Council. Belarus was represented in it for the first time.

Bellegprom is a traditional partner of the Fashion Mill national fashion and photography festival-contest. Winners and laureates receive prizes from Bellegprom's enterprises, and the opportunity to get on-the-job training at the country's largest manufacturing facilities.
