MINSK, 19 June (BelTA) - Winners of the Union State literature and art awards 2017-2018 were announced during the session of the Supreme State Council in Minsk, BelTA has learned.
These are composer People's Artist of Russia Oleg Ivanov, a team comprising conductor People's Artist of Russia Valery Polyansky and Merited Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation Alexander Shanin, Choreographer People's Artist of the USSR Valentin Elizariev.
The Union State literature and art awards are presented in recognition of significant contribution to the strengthening of relations of brotherhood, friendship and all-round cooperation between Belarus and Russia and are awarded once every two years. The first award was presented in 2002.
