Videoconference meeting of CSTO Defense Ministers Council over

MINSK, 1 December (BelTA) – A regular session of the Defense Ministers Council of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) has been finished, representatives of the Belarusian Defense Ministry told BelTA.

The defense ministers of the CSTO member states, Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Stanislav Zas, and Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff Anatoly Sidorov took part in the videoconference meeting.

Participants of the session exchanged opinions about threats and challenges to military security in collective security regions. Belarusian Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin informed participants of the meeting about the situation evolving in the Eastern Europe collective security region. The Tajik defense minister made a report on priority areas of the CSTO's military activities during Tajikistan's presidency in the organization in 2021.

Participants of the session discussed and approved a draft agreement on the joint material, technical, and medical support for the troops (collective forces) of the Collective Security Treaty Organization. They also discussed and approved a draft protocol on amending the CSTO peacemaking activities agreement of 6 October 2007, a draft resolution of the CSTO Collective Security Council on the concept of a comprehensive systemic approach to quality control of the CSTO's jointly developed and manufactured defense products for the duration of their life cycle. Participants of the session also discussed and approved a draft resolution of the CSTO Collective Security Council on additional measures to improve the system for training personnel for government agencies of the Collective Security Treaty Organization member states.
