Uzbekistan Culture Days kick off at Belarusian State Philharmonic

MINSK, 31 July (BelTA) – Uzbekistan Culture Days have opened at the Belarusian State Philharmonic, BelTA learned from spokeswoman for the Culture Ministry Ilona Nemova.

Greeting speeches were made by Belarus' Culture Minister Yuri Bondar, First Deputy Culture Minister of Uzbekistan Ozdbek Nazarbekov, and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Belarus Nasirdjan Yusupov.

“The conservation and widespread appreciation of a rich spiritual, historical and cultural heritage and national traditions are the goals that unite the Uzbek and Belarusian nations. We cooperate in many areas. The number one task for us is to preserve national identity in the multicultural world. Culture Days are a great opportunity for Belarusians to get familiar with new facets of the historical and cultural heritage of a friendly country, feel its offbeat and original character,” Yuri Bondar said.

Uzbekistan Culture Days kicked off with the performance of Yalla and Mumtoz Navo bands, Toshkent Zebolari folk dance company, People's Artist of Uzbekistan Farrukh Zokirov, Honored Artist of Uzbekistan Aygul Nadirova and other artists. The program of the days includes the photo exhibition “Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan” and a decorative art show of wood carving, lacquer miniature, embroidery, textiles, clothing and accessories.

Uzbek guests will give a concert in the Dunin-Martsinkevich Mogilev Regional Drama and Comedy Theater in Bobruisk on 31 July.
