MINSK, 30 May (BelTA) – An invitation to participate in the 26th Minsk International Book Fair in the capacity of the guest of honor has been extended to the United States, BelTA learned from the Information Ministry of Belarus.
Belarus' Information Minister Alexander Karlyukevich met with U.S. Charge d'affaires to Belarus Robert Riley. Organized on the initiative of the U.S. Embassy in Belarus, the meeting was also attended by the head of the European Union Delegation to Belarus Andrea Wiktorin.
Robert Riley welcomed the proposal of the Information Ministry to feature the United States as the guest of honor at the 26th edition of the Minsk International Book Fair.
The minister suggested joining other international events organized by the Information Ministry such as the Belarusian International Media Forum and the Day of Belarusian Written Language.
The parties also discussed different aspects of the draft law on amendments and additions to some laws of the Republic of Belarus in part of new approaches to the legal regulation of mass media activity.More about Society
