MINSK, 27 August (BelTA) – Telegram channels are run from abroad, Ukrainian political analyst Kirill Molchanov told the Belarus 1 TV channel, BelTA has learned.
“This is not a new technology. It has been used since the Arab Spring that started ten years ago with protests in Egypt and Tunisia. They were dubbed Twitter revolutions because protests were coordinated via Twitter,” Kirill Molchanov said.
According to him, this has moved to the Telegram platform now. “All these Telegram channels are foreign agents that are registered somewhere in Poland or Lithuania. It is obvious that all the decision making happens outside Belarus. Those who participate in the protests need to understand this,” the Ukrainian analyst added.
