Ukraine wins Vitebsk Junior Song Contest 2018 Grand Prix

VITEBSK, 12 July (BelTA) – Alexander Balabanov from Ukraine won the Grand Prix of the 16th edition of the Vitebsk Junior Song Contest 2018. The gala concert and awards ceremony were held in the Vitebsk concert hall on 12 July, BelTA has learned.

“The work of the jury was very difficult. Every year the level of competition is growing thanks to the mentors and the efforts of the participants themselves. But this is the reason why we hold the contest – to chose the best from the best,” chairman of the jury Constantin Moscovici said.

The winner of the first prize ($3,000 in prize money ) is Anna Mkrtchian from Armenia. Artem Skorol from Belarus won the second prize ($2,000). Andreea-Emira Rata from Moldova and Abilkaiyr Jumabay of Kazakhstan shared the third prize ($1,000).

Artem Skorol and Margarita Vorobieva received special prizes from the Parliamentary Assembly of the Belarus and Russia Union State. Special awards from the jury were awarded to representatives of Israel, Germany, and Romania. Partners of the festival gave gifts to some of the contestants.
