MINSK, 22 May (BelTA) – Belarus has drawn some important conclusions from the Ukraine conflict. These conclusions helped better understand how to upgrade weapons and revise combat training programs, Assistant to the Defense Minister for Ideological Work in the Armed Forces, Chief of the Main Ideological Directorate of the Defense Ministry Leonid Kasinsky told the ONT TV channel, BelTA informs.

“As far as the nature of hostilities is concerned, some 10-15 years ago we took decisions to modify our battlefield strategies within minutes, hours, but today we realize that decisions should be taken in real time,” Leonid Kasinsky said.

“We have dramatically overhauled the training system, reconsidered combat training programs, made important conclusions regarding the purchase and upgrade of hardware for the Armed Forces and provision of the army with new promising models of weapons and equipment. Of course, we should not discount some traditional types of weapons and military equipment, like tanks, that were considered by some experts as a thing of the past even before the Ukraine conflict. They were wrong,” Leonid Kasinsky added.
