GRODNO, 13 December (BelTA) – A two-week supply of humanitarian aid has been stocked for refugees living in the temporary accommodation facility in the Bruzgi logistics center near the Belarusian-Polish border, Secretary General of the Belarus Red Cross Dmitry Shevtsov informed, BelTA has learned.
“Now people mainly apply with mundane issues. Mothers with small children ask for feeding bottles, pacifiers, thermos bottles. Every day we bring things that may come in handy,” he said.
The Belarus Red Cross secretary general also noted that as of the morning of 13 December, volunteers from various public associations distributed over 150 tonnes of humanitarian aid to refugees. “We have created stocks to keep the shelter going for two weeks. If we compare the amount of aid, Belarus provided about four times more aid than foreign organizations. This help came from domestic organizations, companies, and ordinary people,” Dmitry Shevtsov noted.
