Turkish Ambassador thanks Belarusian people for their help

MINSK, 10 February (BelTA) – Belarus Emergencies Minister Vadim Sinyavsky met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Türkiye to the Republic of Belarus Mustafa Özcan, BelTA learned from the Emergencies Ministry.

Vadim Sinyavsky expressed his condolences to the ambassador and all the Turkish people over the devastating earthquake in the south-east of the country that claimed a great loss of life. The minister wished the victims of the natural disaster a speedy recovery, and the country - the restoration of the destroyed infrastructure and a return to their usual way of life.

For his part, Ambassador Mustafa Özcan, on behalf of the president of Türkiye, thanked the head of state and the Belarusian people for sending a rescue squad and providing assistance in eliminating the consequences of the earthquake.

The ambassador also expressed the request of the Turkish side to send additional humanitarian aid: insulated tents, blankets, heaters and generators. Ambassador Mustafa Özcan expressed readiness to provide logistical support to the search and rescue team ZUBR in case of need to extend the terms of its stay in Türkiye.
