MINSK, 14 March (BelTA) – A large-scale training exercise for government agencies has given an additional impulse for further enhancement of national security, State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus Aleksandr Volfovich told BelTA as he summed up results of the training exercise.
According to Aleksandr Volfovich, the training exercise demonstrated that the national security protection system is ready for any risks and threats. “Yet the event also unearthed so-called vulnerabilities and it is normal. We train for the express purpose of addressing the existing drawbacks and improving our operations. As a result, it will allow avoiding errors in response to critical situations outside classrooms,” the official said.

Aleksandr Volfovich went on saying that actions of the government agencies in response to various scenarios had been analyzed in detail and proposals on improving the effectiveness of their work had been looked into. The relevant amendments will be introduced to laws and regulations concerning security.

“I can say with full confidence that the training exercise we've held has given an additional impulse for further enhancement of national security. It united our forces. Some government agencies and municipal authorities were able to better understand their role and place in the national security protection system,” Aleksandr Volfovich concluded.
A large-scale training exercise focusing on national security efforts and involving central government agencies took place at premises of the Military Academy on 7-9 February.
