NUCLEAR POWER IN BELARUS AND WORLDWIDE
MINSK, 4 September (BelTA) – People's deputies of all levels are entrusted with serious and responsible tasks, Chairwoman of the Council of the Republic Natalya Kochanova said as she met with heads of district councils of deputies of Minsk Oblast, BelTA has learned.
Such meetings have already been held in several regions and they should become a tradition, Natalya Kochanova noted. “The Council of the Republic is the chamber of territorial representation. It is important for us to know the concerns of people in the regions and the social, economic, and political situation there in order to make right decisions and draw up laws that would respond to the current challenges,” she stressed.
Natalya Kochanova emphasized that the Council of the Republic and people's deputies of all levels are faced with very serious and responsible tasks which sometimes even go beyond their duties. Members of local councils of deputies are the closest to people. Citizens' living standards often depend on the performance of the local authorities.
“Today you are the force that is able to solve problems of people in the regions effectively and swiftly,” Natalya Kochanova believes.
