Tbilisoba festival in Minsk postponed till autumn

MINSK, 21 May (BelTA) – The Tbilisoba festival that was due in Minsk in June has been postponed to autumn, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Belarus Valeri Kvaratskhelia said during an online conference organized by the National Press Center on 21 May, BelTA has learned.

Tbilisoba is an annual festival celebrating Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia. The diplomat noted that the coronavirus pandemic has changed the plans of the festival. Nevertheless, the ambassador is convinced that the program of the next festival will be just as packed with events and activities as in the previous years when many music groups from Georgia came to Minsk to take part in the festival.

The diplomat is confident that Belarus-Georgia cultural ties will only grow stronger on the back of the mutual interest. Cultural exchange was particularly vibrant in 2019 when Belarus and Georgia arranged a number of concerts and exchanged music groups.

According to Valeri Kvaratskhelia, cultural exchange builds a better understanding between the two nations. The ambassador invited Belarusians to visit Georgia. He noted that in June or July the country will start opening its borders for foreign tourists and he hopes that many Belarusians will have an opportunity to visit Georgian resorts.
