Supreme Eurasian Economic Council to convene online on 14 October

MOSCOW, 13 October (BelTA) – The upcoming session of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council will be held online on 14 October, official representative of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Iya Malkina told a briefing on 13 October, BelTA has learned.

“The Supreme Eurasian Economic Council will convene online on 14 October. Taking part in it will be heads of the EAEU member states, presidents of the EAEU observer states - Cuba and Uzbekistan, Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission Mikhail Myasnikovich,” Iya Malkina said.

According to her, the agenda of the meeting features 10 points. “The heads of the EAEU states will be briefed on the progress in working out approaches to pricing and tariff setting in the common gas market of the Eurasian Economic Union and to tariffs for gas transportation from third countries for domestic consumption,” the EEC representative informed. “They will also discuss transition to the second stage of creating common markets of oil and petroleum products in the EAEU. Let me remind you that the EAEU common markets for energy resources are to become operational by 1 January 2025,” she added.

In addition to that, members of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council will discuss the global climate agenda of the EAEU and changes to the list of sensitive goods (import duties on these goods are determined by the EEC Council).

“There are plans to consider a number of personnel issues,” Iya Malkina added.
