MINSK, 11 February (BelTA) – The Snow Sniper biathlon tournament opens the door to the elite sport for many talented athletes, Assistant Chairman of the Presidential Sport Club Pavel Yegorov told the media on the sidelines of the Snow Sniper biathlon tournament final at the Raubichi Olympic Center on 10 February, BelTA has learned.

“Positive feedback from fans is the best evaluation of our work. People come to root for athletes. For many young athletes these competitions will open the door to the elite sport. Even if children decide not to go into professional biathlon, they will keep warm memories of the Snow Sniper throughout their lives,” Pavel Yegorov said.

In his words, the rule of the tournament will be updated in the future. “The plans for the next season are to hold biathlon competitions on one day. Under the current regulations, shooting and skiing are held as separate disciplines. We will do our best to get young athletes interested as much as possible,” he added.

The Snow Sniper biathlon tournament was organized by the Presidential Sport Club, the Sport and Tourism Ministry, Education Ministry, the Belarusian Biathlon Federation, the Minsk City Hall and the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee.
