MINSK, 31 August (BelTA) – Schools should stay out of politics, kids should learn and receive education. Chairwoman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Natalya Kochanova made the relevant statement on the sidelines of the Minsk city forum of pedagogical workers, BelTA has learned.

The senator said: “Schools should stay out of politics, kids should learn and receive education. There should be no separation in schools. 1 September is Knowledge Day. I think everyone will come to schools on this day in a festive mood. They will sit at their desks while parents and teachers will do everything to create a holiday atmosphere for the children.”



The Minsk city forum of pedagogical workers took place in the Central House of Officers on 31 August. It gathered about 800 pedagogical workers. An exhibition of guidance papers and accomplishments of Minsk's education system was opened before the forum. Natalya Kochanova said: “I saw interesting practices of our pedagogues during the pedagogical conference. The day before I met with teachers in a Minsk school. The teachers are intent on working.”
