School built by Belarusians opens in Kaluga Oblast

MINSK, 2 September (BelTA) – A school built by Belarusians has opened in Kaluga Oblast of Russia, BelTA learned from the press service of the Architecture and Construction Ministry of Belarus.

“Schoolchildren from Kaluga Oblast received a Knowledge Day gift from Belarusian construction workers. A new secondary school built by Belarusians opened in the town of Balabanovo. Taking part in the school inauguration ceremony were Belarus Architecture and Construction Minister Ruslan Parkhamovich and Acting Kaluga Oblast Governor Vladislav Shapsha,” the Construction and Architecture Ministry informed.

Ruslan Parkhamovich thanked the Belarusian builders and emphasized that the new educational institution meets all modern requirements. Addressing the students, he noted that school is a serious stage in everyone's life and wished all the children who will study here academic and creative successes.

Welcoming first graders Vladislav Shapsha said: On 1 September more than 110,000 children went to school in Kaluga Oblast. He emphasized that students are the present of the country, and expressed hope that the new generation will grow up strong and will love their homeland.

The school for 1,000 students in the town of Balabanovo was built in line with the Education national project and the Modern School federal project. Over RUB908 million was allocated for the project.

The total area of ​​the three-storey building exceeds 18,600 square meters. The school has 51 classrooms, classes for computer science, music, physics, biology, chemistry and other disciplines, as well as language laboratories and a spacious information and library center. Primary school students will be able to spend after-school time in a playroom. There are three gyms and an assembly hall, outdoor and indoor video surveillance cameras, as well as an access control system. Some 760 children have already been enrolled in the school.
